The Triumph Thruxton was originally launched in 2003 as a café racer version of the 2001 Bonneville retro roadster. As such it was inspired by the ‘rocker’ bikes of the 1950s and ‘60s, mimicked those bikes’ more racy riding position and (slightly) enhanced performance yet underneath it all was still a fairly soft, novice-friendly middleweight twin.
