EFFORTLESS POWER
The 2025 DSR is a totally new type of motorcycle. The DSR brings the pedigree of the world's most capable electric dual sport motorcycles with capabilities that have never been seen on or off the road. Available stock as an A2 licenced machine, the DSR comes with an impressive 170 N-m of torque and 52 kW of peak power. The DSR is also upgradable via a dealer installed firmware update that turns it into an even more capable full A licenced machine provided you meet the updated licencing requirements. The full A DSR delivers even more exhilarating rides and produces 195 N-m of torque and 60 kW of peak power. Regardless of which rendition of the DSR you ride, it has entirely improved capabilities over its previous version thanks to a new battery, a whole new style, and a brand-new motor. All of this plus the award-winning Cypher III+ operating system means that the DSR occupies a truly remarkable tier in the Zero dual sport product line.
Z-FORCE 75-10X
The 2025 DSR uses the Z-Force 75-10X direct drive motor variant which is found on the award-winning DSR/X and is specially tuned for the rigors of navigating rough terrain. Sharing some of the same architecture as the 75-10 found on Zero street motorcycles, but with completely different internal materials, this motor delivers stump-ripping power under any circumstances. All this along with Zero's renowned internal permanent magnet, brushless architecture, and a passively air-cooled, compact design delivers class-leading performance and efficiency with virtually no maintenance required.
POWER PIVOT
Sharing the same chassis as the remainder of the Zero Motorcycles dual sport model line, the 2025 DSR features Zero's proprietary and reinforced concentric motor and swingarm pivot design. This provides optimal architecture to ensure constant drive-belt tension and maximum torque delivery to the rear wheel. A custom-designed, large-bearing swingarm pivot allows ample space for the high-performance motor while allowing a slim chassis waist to enhance rider ergonomics and bike maneuverability either through traffic or through rutted-out back country.
EFFORTLESS CONTROL
The Zero DSR runs Zero's latest Cypher III+ operating system and is accompanied by with a suite of standard performance features. Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), including Offroad MSC that is also found on the DSR/X, is equal parts brawn and brains. The DSR is the canvas on which you can paint your masterpiece electric ADV motorcycle. The Zero DSR is an adaptable motorcycle and powertrain combination that navigates diverse road terrain and conditions as easily as it accommodates its rider's every need.
CYPHER III+
The absolute gold standard for electric motorcycle operating systems, Cypher III+ is the conductor behind an orchestra of instruments propelling the Zero DSR. The Zero DSR is infinitely customizable and comes with the ability to add new Cypher Features through the NextGen app to become everything you want and nothing you don't. Also, the DSR offers the revolutionary feature of being the only bike to truly grow with your abilities from being an A2 to an full A licenced machine through a deal-installed Cypher option. This upgrade is possible only thanks to Cypher, and it's available only if you satisfy all of your local licencing requirements.
ARSENAL OF RIDE MODES
The Zero DSR's arsenal of ride modes allows the rider to customize the bike's performance through Zero's intuitive NextGen app and dash interface. The DSR navigates the road no matter the conditions with Rain, Eco, Standard, Sport, and Canyon modes pre-loaded along with a virtually infinite number of custom-tuned mode adjustments available. These adjustments can be saved for use during both on and off-road conditions thanks to the included Bosch Offroad MSC.
EFFORTLESS CONNECTION
The Zero DSR is a truly "smart" motorcycle with the Cypher III+ operating system and available over-the-air (OTA) updates thanks to the integrated Cellular Connectivity Module (CCM) running on 4G wireless. Customize the dash, access the NextGen app with standard features, and enjoy limitless possibilities. Futureproof intelligence and unmatched power make the DSR the ultimate ride with seamless connection in every detail.
THE CONNECTED BIKE
The Zero DSR is connected through cellular networks, always transmitting anonymized info to the NextGen app. The app offers access to a host of ride information including current bike status and location that are always available. This connectivity gives the rider the ability to monitor the bike in four main areas: Bike Status & Alerts, Charging, Ride Data Sharing, and OTA System Updates.
ADVANCED APP
Zero's NextGen app works with the dash and Cypher III+ to create a feature-rich ecosystem with access to new Cypher Features where upgrades can be selected with the tap of a finger. Faster Charging, and Parking Mode are just a few of the features available for you to choose from. Other features already included for free within the app include ride mode selection and creation, personalized dash options, scheduled and target-based charging, and so much more.
LICENCED TO THRILL: THE NEW ZERO DSR
The new Zero DSR offers a unique proposition for new and experienced riders alike. Designed to meet the latest European A2 licence regulations, it offers all the benefits of Zero's legendary instant acceleration and magic carpet power delivery to a much wider range of riders – including newly qualified younger riders – with the option to upgrade the power output when your licence allows.
ADAPTABILITY AND UPGRADABILITY
The new Zero DSR brings the stunningly smooth and responsive riding experience delivered by Zero’s patented Z-Force 75-10 to newly qualified riders for the first time. With 170 Nm of torque and a continuous power output rated at 33 kW, the Zero DSR rolls out of the showroom ready to be ridden by A2 licence holders, but can be upgraded to deliver an even more potent 36 kW upon graduation to a full ‘A’ licence. It’s a motorcycle which grows with the rider, meaning there’s no need to trade up when you level up.
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS
The new Zero DSR can be ridden by riders aged 19 and over, who have gained an A2 category motorcycle licence.
A2 is an intermediate licence, which allows holders to ride motorcycles with a continuous power output of between 20 and 35kw. Riders have to complete a two-part riding test and, after passing, will be able to ride a standard Zero DSR without restrictions.
After two years of riding with an A2 licence, or at the age of 24, riders can take a further test to upgrade to a full ‘A’ licence which allows motorcycles of unlimited power outputs to be ridden. Upon graduating to an A licence, Zero DSR riders are able to derestrict their motorcycle – unlocking the full performance of the Z-Force 75-10 permanent magnet AC motor without the need to purchase a new motorcycle.
Z-FORCE 15.6 BATTERY PACK
The Z-FORCE 15.6 kWh lithium-ion battery requires no maintenance or upkeep and makes the DSR capable of 249 km of city range. Riders can extend their range even farther with the available Power Tank accessory (dealer install required). The battery's industry-leading power and energy density combined with an aluminum heat-sink housing and thermal transfer interface ensure consistent cell cooling and maximum long-term powertrain performance.
RAPID CHARGE SYSTEM
Our Rapid Charge System is customizable for various charging levels but the baseline for the Zero DSR is a powerful 3.3 kW charger. To get even faster charging you can elect to install the available Rapid Charging Cypher accessory and boost your onboard charging power. Alternatively, you can use the included EVSE cord to charge the Zero DSR from any standard wall outlet for an overnight charge.
Z-FORCE 75-10X
The DSR uses the Z-Force 75-10X direct drive motor variant which utilizes an internal permanent magnet, brushless architecture, and a passively air-cooled, compact design delivers class-leading performance and efficiency with virtually no maintenance required. This motor is specially tuned for the rigors of navigating rough terrain. This motor delivers 170 N-m of torque and 52 kW of immediate power stock, with upgrades available up to 195 N-m of torque and 60 kW following achievement of local licencing requirements and a deal-installed firmware update.
CHASSIS
The Zero DSR uses the same geometry and design of the same steel-trellis frame found on Zero's street motorcycles but is reinforced for the rigors of challenging terrain. The powertrain is perfectly distributed, resulting in a weight-optimized/mass-centralized design. The Zero DSR componentry is also situated differently to optimize for adventure by providing a category-leading 24.6 cm of ground clearance. Paired with a coaxial power-pivot swingarm which has also been reinforced to handle greater loads under harsher conditions, the architecture of the bike and Showa's adventure suspension delivers a nimble and controlled riding experience.
LINKED BRAKING
The DSR features a linked braking system. Controlled by the integrated Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control System, it activates instantly upon sensing a loss of traction or any slippage. The system immediately applies the right amount of braking to the front and rear brakes simultaneously, providing added control when climbing or descending steep, loose terrain. The Zero DSR is equipped with J. Juan radial 4-piston calipers with radial master cylinders to clench down on dual 320x5 mm disc brakes up front and another J. Juan pair of 2x25 mm pistons biting down on a 265x4.5 mm disc in the rear.
SEE CLEARLY
Customize your dash or simply let the industry's gold standard in auto-contrasting light sensing do all the work for you. Data fields abound when you choose the bike info you want to be displayed and read it clearly on the optically bonded, full-color 12.7 cm TFT display. Multi-mode navigation enables on-the-fly ride mode switching, cruise-control, heated grip control, and much more.
DIALED SUSPENSION
The DSR delivers a smooth ride fit for any terrain or load with enhanced suspension for your ADV outings. A 47-mm Showa fork offers 18.7 cm of travel and full adjustability. Also, the convenient dial for hand-adjusting preload on the new Showa shock also offers the perfect accommodation for a pillion rider or fully-loaded optional TRAX ADV cases (sold separately).
RUBBER SIDE DOWN
The DSR can navigate virtually any obstacle in its way thanks to its incredibly light and durable cast wheels, 19” up front and 17” in the rear. These come wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tires for uniformly excellent performance on all surface types. However, the indomitable Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires are available for those riders who want to upgrade their DSR into a fully trail-rated off-road monster.
CARBON STRONG
Zero collaborated with Gates Carbon Belt Drive, the leader in belt-driven powersport technologies, to develop an entirely new belt drive system for the DSR. Wider, stronger, and more capable than ever, the Gates Carbon Drive Moto X9™ belt is paired to the Mudport Wheel Sprocket with larger, ported sprockets to reduce bend angles and eliminate debris from the drive train. This combination results in the most durable drive system that is found on any electric motorcycle. *Chain Kit option available as accessory purchase.
LIGHT THE WAY
See the road ahead like never before and ensure it always sees you with the custom-made full LED headlight and LED taillight with opalescent light-pipe for unrivaled lateral visibility. The DSR can be upgraded with optional LED turn and hazard indicators so you can be confident your intentions are broadcast as far as possible in any low light situations.
ROOM TO SPARE
The DSR comes stock with 28L of onboard storage volume in various storage compartments. From the covert stash spots on the motorcycle to the voluminous tank assembly storage sometimes referred to as a “frunk,” the DSR is delivered with thoughtful storage options that complement your favorite ADV riding gear. Also, the DSR can be equipped with dozens of bespoke storage cases from some of the most trusted names in Adventure Riding.
